Angle & Control

Angle

Angle refers to the degree at which the car is sideways relative to the direction of travel.

More angle generally means higher difficulty.

Angle must be controlled and maintained throughout the run.

Excessive angle that slows the car too much may reduce the score.

Judges reward high, consistent, and well-managed drift angle.

Transition

A Transition is the moment when the driver switches the car from drifting in one direction to the opposite direction.

Judges look for:

  • Smoothness
  • Speed
  • Control
  • Minimal loss of angle or momentum

A fast and fluid transition scores higher than a slow or unstable one.

Correction

A Correction is any visible steering or throttle adjustment made to prevent loss of control.

Examples:

  • Rapid steering inputs
  • Sudden throttle lifts
  • Abrupt countersteer adjustments

Small corrections are acceptable.

Large or repeated corrections reduce the score because they indicate lack of precision.
