Lead Run

In a Lead Run, the driver sets the ideal line and performs according to the judging criteria.

Responsibilities of the lead driver:

Follow the correct line
Maintain consistent speed
Show strong angle and commitment
Be predictable and stable

The lead driver must not block or make erratic movements.

Chase Run

In a Chase Run, the driver follows the lead car and is judged on:

Proximity
Matching angle
Matching line
Reaction speed
Pressure applied to the lead driver

The chase driver should imitate the lead driver’s line while staying as close as possible.

Proximity

Proximity refers to how close the chase car stays to the lead car during a tandem run.

High-scoring proximity means:

Minimal gap between cars
Controlled and safe closeness
No contact or forced errors

Closer is better

as long as it remains controlled and mimics the leader’s angle.
