Drift Masters is back for 2025 with a new season, a new look, and a bold new rulebook. After over a decade of growth, the series is entering a new era focused on closer battles, better showmanship, and more engaging competition, for both fans and drivers alike.
Following fan feedback, internal review, and a renewed vision from the Drift Masters team, the series is implementing several key updates for the 2025 season.

Judging Overhaul
A new face joins the judging panel this year as Mateusz Dziedzic (Poland) replaces Kevin O’Connell. He’ll sit alongside returning judges David Kalas (Czech Republic) and Vernon Zwaneveld (Netherlands). Chris Wiltowski (UK) also joins as assistant judge, managing the video adjudication system (VAR) and ready to step in if needed.

Updated Scoring Format
The line score system has been revamped for greater consistency. Each line judge now scores independently out of 60 points, with the final score being an average, rather than a sum. This makes the scoring more balanced and transparent.

Chase Runs Take the Spotlight
Drift Masters is shifting its emphasis toward aggressive and precise chase runs, the kind of high-risk driving that fans love. While lead runs remain important, it’s the proximity and pressure of a top-tier chase that will be more heavily rewarded this season.

New Start Procedure
We are removing the cones and the chicane from the start line this year. The start zone has been completely redesigned:
- Chase drivers now line up approximately 8 meters behind the lead car
- A slight rolling start is allowed to maintain proximity.
A new LED start light system and photocell timing sensor will enforce stricter rules
Jumping the start or delaying beyond the green light window will now trigger STRIKE lights, penalising poor launches.

“These changes are about raising the level of competition while staying true to what makes drifting so exciting - aggressive driving, close battles, and real emotion. We’re pushing the sport forward without losing the soul of it.”
— Arkadiusz Dudko, Vice President of Drift Masters

Strategic Battle Order
Drivers who qualify higher now have the tactical advantage of choosing whether to lead or chase first in battle. This small change could make a big difference in close matchups and rewards strong qualifying performances.

More Driver Emotion On Show
This year, Drift Masters will bring fans even closer to the action. Expect more live interviews, raw reactions, and emotional moments captured trackside throughout each event. It's not just about the cars, it's also about the drivers behind the wheel.

Bye Run Rule Adjusted
In the event of a collision where the at-fault driver (Driver A) can’t continue, Driver B now advances automatically, no BYERUN required. If this situation occurs during the final, Driver B will win the event outright.

These changes signal a fresh era for Drift Masters, one with tighter battles and a deeper focus on the emotional, high-stakes nature of drifting at the highest competitive level.
