Drift Masters regrets to announce that Round 1 Italy, scheduled to take place this weekend at Vallelunga Circuit, has been cancelled due to the recent passing of Pope Francis.
With the funeral of Pope Francis now scheduled for Saturday, Italian authorities have requested the suspension of all public sporting events during this time of national mourning. While we are still awaiting formal confirmation from the local sporting federation, we have made the decision not to proceed with the event, as we are certain all sporting events will be suspended, in order to respect the magnitude of this moment and allow all necessary arrangements to take place.
This is an unfortunate and unforeseen circumstance, and one entirely out of our control.
As a result, the 2025 Drift Masters season will now begin with Round 1 at Circuito del Jarama in Madrid, Spain, on May 17th and 18th.
We are currently working closely with the local ticketing platform to confirm refund procedures. At this time, we have not yet received definitive guidance on the refund process, but we will provide a full update for ticket holders as soon as possible.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Pope Francis and extend our condolences to the people of Italy and the global Catholic community. While we were eagerly anticipating the season kickoff in Italy this week, we fully respect the need to honour this moment appropriately. We appreciate the understanding of our fans, drivers, and partners as we adapt to these extraordinary circumstances.”

*Update re. Refund Process for Tickets*
_
April 23rd
Drift Masters would like to provide an important update regarding ticket refunds for the recently cancelled Italy round.
Ticket refunds will be handled in two different ways, depending on how the original purchase was made:
Online Purchases via TicketOne:
Fans who bought their tickets online through TicketOne do not need to take any action. Refunds will be processed automatically through the banking system. TicketOne will begin processing these refunds next week.
Purchases via TicketOne Resellers (Physical Points of Sale):
A small number of tickets were purchased through TicketOne's physical resellers. These fans are required to complete a refund form to receive their refund. The link to this form is attached here. We kindly ask fans to check how their ticket was originally purchased before taking any further steps.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
